About Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority (ENNDA)

Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority (ENNDA) was established on 1st   December 1989 through the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin Development Authority Act CAP 448 of the Laws of Kenya. Following the passing of the new constitution, CAP 448 was repelled and replaced with Ewaso Ng’iro North Development Authority Act, 2013, which aligned the Authority to the new dispensation of Counties being the political centres at the local level.

ENNDA is amongst 6 basin development authorities namely; Lake Basin Development Authority, Kerio Valley Development Authority, Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority, Coast Development Authority and Ewaso Ng’iro South Development Authority.

MANDATE

The Authority’s mandate is to plan, co-ordinate and implement development projects and programmes, in the Ewaso Ng’iro North basin and catchment areas.

OUR MISSION

To promote sustainable and equitable integrated development in the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin and its catchment area through integrated development planning, research and studies, implementation of integrated/multipurpose programmes and projects and establishment of resource based enterprises.
