KWFT The Award Winning Microfinance Bank
Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWFT) for over three decades now has continued to provide opportunities to thousands of families gradually uplifting them out of poverty and elevating them to improved living standards.
KWFT received the license for Deposit Taking Business in March 2010 from Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and it prides itself to being the only Financial Institution in Kenya and Africa that serves a unique niche market, as reflected in the Institution’s slogan ‘Banking on women’ as we are the only Women’s Bank in Africa. With 80% of KWFT’s clients residing in the rural areas, the Institution has made a deliberate effort to reduce inequalities and enhancing financial inclusion by ensuring that its operations reach far and wide to provide equal opportunities to all women and their families around the country. To foster this need KWFT has invested in a vast branch network of 245 offices spread out across 45 out of the 47 counties in Kenya.

Social Mission
While developing products, KWFT has incorporated strategies designed to ensure that our clients businesses grow sustainably, this has been achieved by incorporating key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Triple Bottom Line approach that focuses on the products ability to transform the customers’ lives (people), their impact on the environment (planet) and its ability generate returns (profit). In addition KWFT has also integrated the Kenya’s Government Big Four Agenda which touch the heart of our core business i.e. on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare for all.
