What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We are committed to a high standard of privacy for our users. We understand that job seeking is a confidential and private activity and we take great care to ensure the services we provide meet our users expectations. We know that job seeking involves the provision of sensitive personal information to others and encourage users to carefully and diligently apply for jobs.
We collect a range of personal and non-personal data as part of our core service offering. We collect information on our site visitors collectively including which sections of the site are most frequently visited, how often and for how long. This data is always used as aggregated, non-personal information.
As part of registering with Ricasi Consultancy Limited, we collect personal information about you that you provide in order for you to take full advantage of our services. Registered members may elect to store resumes and use those resumes when applying for a job. Please note that deleted records may still be stored by Ricasi Consultancy Limited in testing or backup systems for a period of time. We provide registered members with the option of creating a personal profile. A profile may include your resume, employment and educational history, contact details, minimum salary expectation and the classifications and locations registered members would like to work in amongst other personal data.
Registered members’ profiles may be seen by our clients who place job ads in matching classifications and locations. Members can choose to hide their profile at any time. We provide registered members with a range of privacy options in relation to the access allowed to their Profile whereby the job advertiser sends the job for which they are inviting you to apply to you before you release your resume to them.
All information provided when creating a Profile including name, resume, email address, telephone numbers, employment and educational history are used for the purposes of facilitating registered members job seeking efforts. Registered Members can modify, hide or delete their resume at any time. We reserve the right to disable or delete a Profile at our sole discretion.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

If you provide credit, debit or other payment card and related details to us in order to make a payment, Ricasi Consultancy Limited will use such information only for the purpose of processing the payment. Any credit card and related billing and payment information that you provide to us may be shared by us with companies who work on our behalf, such as payment processors and/or credit agencies, solely for the purposes of checking credit, effecting payment to Ricasi Consultancy Limited and servicing your account.
Who we share your data with
Job applications require you to provide personal information so that the advertiser can identify and contact you. Your application, including attachments and cover letters, are forwarded directly onto the third party advertiser. This information may also be disclosed to our service providers and contractors from time to time who assist us to deliver our products and services, or may be disclosed to an advertisers provider in the case of recruitment agencies, recruitment software providers and other third party providers to our advertisers.
By applying to a position advertised on Ricasi’s talentpool you are requesting that Ricasi Consultancy Limited pass the information to the Advertiser as a part of your application.
In order to better understand our users, we may use a third party measurement companies to assess site traffic and behavior. Tracking codes from these companies are used to collect aggregated non-personal data about site, device, browser and internet service provider usage amongst other non-personal data.
This aggregate, non-personal information is collated and provided to Ricasi Consultancy by the third parties to assist in analyzing the usage of the site. This data is also accessible by media organizations and research companies, for the purpose of conducting industry comparisons with other Internet websites. It is also accessible by third party advertisers considering placing advertising on.
How long we retain your data
We may also retain your information in order to customize the service we provide to you. We however reserve the right to disable or delete a saved resume or cover letter at our discretion. However we will only do this for reasons of security, technological constraints or other factors unrelated to the personal information or identity or personal information of the user.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Unless you become a registered member, we do not collect information that identifies you personally. If however, you become a Ricasi’s talentpool registered member, you are able to change, update or delete your registered profile at any time by logging in.
How we protect your data
Ricasi Consultancy Limited takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security of our systems. We allow you to access your information at any time to keep it accurate and up to date. Any information which we hold for you is stored on secure servers belonging to third parties. In addition, our employees and the contractors who provide services related to our information systems are contractually obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by Ricasi Consultancy Limited. Our employees have severely restricted access to personal data stored on Ricasi’s talentpool. However, Ricasi Consultancy Limited will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorized access of your personal information.
You can also play an important role in keeping your personal information secure, by maintaining the confidentiality of any password and accounts used on the Ricasi’s talentpool site. Please notify us immediately if there is any unauthorized use of your account by any other Internet user or any other breach of security.
Please also be aware that we may use third-party cloud service providers that provide hosting, data storage and other services pursuant to standard terms and conditions that may be nonnegotiable; these service providers have informed us or the general public that they apply security measures they consider adequate for the protection of information within their system, or they have a general reputation for applying such measures. However, we will not be liable (to the fullest extent permitted by law) for any damages that may result from the misuse of any information, including Personal Data, by these companies.
What third parties we receive data from
You may also directly contact advertisers to request access to any personal information that you have sent as part of an application or as part of a profile.
In the event that the electronic destination provided to Ricasi Consultancy Limited is incorrect, your application materials will not be sent to the intended recipient of the application. We have no liability for such applications. If you do not wish to send your application materials in this manner, you should send them directly to the Employer.
By giving us your personal information, you consent to such disclosures and storage. In addition, where we transfer information to persons outside Kenya we believe that the recipients of such information are subject to a law, binding scheme or contract which effectively upholds principles for fair handling of the information that are substantially similar to our own principles.
Ricasi Consultancy Limited welcomes ideas and feedback about all aspects of the site. We store feedback that users send to us. This feedback will be used to administer and refine the service and may be shared with our partners either in aggregate form or with specific identifying characteristics removed.
From time to time, we may review and update our privacy statement. Revised versions will be updated on the website.
