Who are we?
Save the Children is the leading independent, child-focused organization in the world. We work for lasting improvements in children’s lives in more than 120 countries. We achieve change for children by building evidence from innovations, collaborating with key stakeholders, and being the voice for change to implement our programs at scale.

In Kenya, Save the Children has been operational since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners. In 2017 we reached more than 650,000 Kenyans directly and over 4 million indirectly through our programmes.

Which children do we target?
We target the most marginalised and deprived children in the country. We have operational presence in drought-prone pastoralist counties of the northeast and northwest; Garissa,Wajir, Mandera and Turkana. We also work in counties with the highest number of deprived children (Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Kisumu, Kitui, Migori and Nairobi), and in Dadaab refugee camp.

Our programmatic approach is to build evidence from our programme innovations and then work to enhance Government of Kenya systems to scale-up successful programs. We enhance service delivery directly or through local NGOs and partners and use our successes to engage in policy dialogue at different levels.
